Sage Sticks for Burning

Bring the earthy, aromatic scent of sage into your space with these natural sage sticks, traditionally burned to create fragrant smoke for cleansing, clearing and spiritual practices.

Traditionally, the smoke from burning sage may be gently directed around a person, object or space as part of a blessing or cleansing practice. The exact traditions, meanings and methods vary considerably between Indigenous nations and communities, so there isn't one single way to describe or practise traditional smudging.

Today, sage sticks are also commonly used outside those traditional ceremonies as part of personal spiritual and wellbeing routines. You might choose to burn a little sage when starting a meditation, after cleaning your home, when moving into a new space, or simply when you want to create a calm and intentional atmosphere.

Light the end of the sage stick until it begins to smoulder, then gently blow out the flame. Allow the fragrant smoke to drift through your chosen space, or around an object, while holding your own personal intention for the ritual.

Always burn sage in a suitable heatproof dish or bowl and keep it away from curtains, furniture and other flammable materials. Never leave burning sage unattended and ensure the stick is completely extinguished when you have finished. Use in a well-ventilated space.

Large - approximately 21cm
